Always on display option not working when music is paused

There is a bug when using the Fitbit activity run app with the always on display option selected and when music is paused.

When this is the case the always on display option seems to automatically turn off once the music is paused and un-paused (thus disabling it for the rest of the run). It seems that any action that brings you to the music control screen when the run app is running disables the always on display.

This is clearly a bug and is very annoying as i really like the ability to use the always on display when running.

It's great to see you around @user1842. Thanks for the details and the test that you've tried.

I would like you to try to restart your Ionic and then perform a run activity with the music and check if the display stays on.

Let me know how it goes.

Unfortunately the same issue happens after restarting the Ionic. Here are the steps to recreate the bug:

1. Restart Ionic

2. Connect Bluetooth headphones and start playing music

3. Open the Run activity in the exercise app and in the settings of the the Run activity make sure always on display is on

4. Start the Run

5. At any stage during the Run click the play/pause button on your Bluetooth headphones to pause the music. After a moment the screen will display the music controls.

6. Now click the play/pause button on your Bluetooth headphones to start playing the music again. After a moment the screen will display the activity tracking.

7. However now the screen is no longer always on.

The only way to restore the always on functionality is to end the current Run, reconnect the Bluetooth headphones and start a new run. If you press pause the whole bug starts again.
