Another victim in the case of "The Suddenly Dead Ionic"

I enjoyed my ionic during the 18 months I had it.  I didn't use all the "cool" apps (like pay) or download music to it.  I basically used it to track steps and workouts; especially runs (really liked the built in GPS even if it wasn't the most accurate).  Did a SW update today and hit an issue; app icons were not rendering correctly so I wasn't able to view anything except main clock face.  Did some research and everything pointed to performing a reset.  Tried various times and nothing.  Then was directed to perform factory reset and now, like many others are experiencing, it will not power back on.  Talked to support.  Yep, 25% discount.  So, a $300 watch can't even make it past a 2 year benchmark.  Disappointing. I believe it's time to switch brands and go with something a bit more serious.

Sorry .. I'm replying to myself but was reading the "Fitbit OS 4.1.3 Firmware Update (70.80.0)" posts and other (if they haven't) should too.  Wow, sure is interesting all these problems are happening after the update.  Coincidence many of us are "bricked" now? I don't think so.
