When I tap Strava on my Ionic it just shows previous routes from the Strava App on my phone. No option to start a workout/ride.

That’s about the long and the short of it. It’s purely a way to review your Strava records (though, as many have found, not always and not all of them). Activity needs to be recorded by the Ionic, synced to Strava and then viewed in the Strava app. Bit of old cobblers really.

And not what any of us were expecting I would think. 😕

Bummer, as Trifit sez below, not at all what we expected. I did. 13 mile ride this afternoon using the exercise app and the GPS results for the route were less than poor.  Heart rate, calories and even distance were spot on.

I just did a 20 minute ride this morning (I'm in Australia) to test out the Fitbit - Strava linking, and I'm actually quite happy with the results. Every aspect of the data looks accurate and it synced to Strava within about 10 - 15 mins of finishing and I got a notification to say so. I miss the live Strava features of premium membership (which I believe you can get on a Garmin), but leaving my phone behind has advantages.

The Strava app on mine just says that there is no recorded activity yet.  But there has been.  Both on the watch and the Strava app.  Watch data synced with Strava app as it should but nothing on the watch app.

Any suggestions?

Strava App on Iconic is updated via Ionic Exercise/Bike.  There are several threads addressing this as well as other issues wherein Strava or Fitbit is not completely updated.  If you run Fitbit and Strava at the same time, they won’t sync.  Hope this helps.

I have to say I think the Strava integration works really well. Every day I use the watch to track my 12km each way bike ride to work....you just hit the Bike 'let's go button' , end ride, then a minute or so later it's all uploaded and notification shows on my Smartphone. I've been doing the same route for years, and the GPS distance and altitude is spot on, and the heart rate really very good. I used to have a charge HR and the heart rate for anything other than resting was literally useless, but the Ionic is very very close to a chest strap. I like to use the Fitness & Freshness on Strava, and it previously meant always having to remember chest strap for my short commute, but this solutions works great! I also find after using Ionic for commute and checking the odd Whatsapp message throughout the day, still have around 80% battery at the end of the day. Great work FitBit!

My Strava app doesn't seem to be syncing. Last sync was a week (and many activities) ago.

Fenix 5 Plus. Previously Ionic and Surge. Google Pixels 3 and 5. Aria. Chromebook. Deezer and Audible.

Fitbit shoud really make it so that you can start a run off the watch

If i start a ride from the Ionic watch it records and uploads within minutes to the Strava app, i dont have a premium account so dont know how accurate the heart rate is.
