Is anyone happy with their Ionic? Is yours fully working and syncing? It seems most discussions here are about the problems, but looking at different stores online the reviews are still mostly positive. I can't tell if the one I have is just never going to work or it's a firmware issue that could be fixed. Right now I'm leaning towards this one is never going to work, but then I'm not sure if I should get a new one or not.

And I have noticed that there is another update. The extra features are things I don't even use with my Ionic, I believe. I will avoid the trap of the update paradox this time. Spent too many hours on this device trying to get it to update the last time.

I’ve had enough!
Fitbit ionic stopped syncing with my phone. Uninstalled, followed instructions posted and now nothing connects. Ready to get rid of this device and move to something that works.

Short answer no
All worked for two weeks and now will not sync
Hunk of junk
I have spent now ten hours trying to get it to work
Just an expensive watch with very limited features
A FAD gone BAD

Yep. Seems like Fitbit can’t get it together. Not the first time I’ve had an issue like this.

My 3rd day with the Ionic (my very first smartphone).
Short story: NO, very inaccurate heart rate (I hear this is common in all wrist optical monitors....), steps are not reliable, app is buggy, it is not comfortable in my wrist (hadn't worn a watch for 10+ years so this might be "my fault"), no "always on" feature, etc. etc.
If I spend 300 bucks on something I expect that it works the way is intended. Sorry I am returning it. The only thing that I like about the Ionic is that it is beautiful and looks good in my arm. But 300 bucks is too much for this matter, I am sure there are cheaper and prettier bracelets lol....

Well, I am pretty happy with the device.
This is my most complimented for its looks smartwatch!
And I had some premium smartwatches before: Sony Smartwatch 3, Huawei Watch1 and Samsung Gear S3.
It does what I bought it for.
Regarding updates: they should be done on charging watch and over good WiFi.
I did it this way with no problem.
The same about other problems discussed here: syncing etc.
May be it's because I bough the watch late, on May 2018, so the bugs were fixed.
My biggest issue is the lack of Hebrew, but I don't see any other reason to be not happy with the device.

This is our family's and company sponsored fitbit device. I know they need to make money but this is the wrong way.

I really like my Ionic as a fitness tracker. It tracks my runs great and connects with the GPS with no problems. The bluetooth and music works great too and I've had no problems (even though the music system itself is pretty archaic).
As a smartwatch, though, it's pretty useless, and has no features at all worth mentioning. Pandora or Deezer only? Yech.
So I'd say that I like it, but I wish I had paid less for it.

Biggest piece of junk ever. Never syncs, ever. I would never recommend to anyone to purchase. I used to be a huge fitbit fan and was always very happy with their customer service. Not any more.

Really happy about my Ionic, best smartwatch I ever owned.
Last firmware update works great, all notifications are in and I particular love that the dismiss action is bidirectional (if I dismiss it from Ionic it will disappear from my Pixel and viceversa). No problem of sync, battery life, sleeping stages and so on.
Is it perfectly? Definitely not. It has a lot to improve both as a Fitness watch (the running app is really basic, no smart alarm...) and, mainly, as Smartwatch (not possible to launch apps from the clockface, no apps in background and so on) but overall I'm really happy.

I have been very unhappy with the Ionic for the past eight months! The issue list is huge:
- Heart rate inaccurate while training
- Ionic crashing randomly while running (happened just yesterday again)
- Music transfer is painfully slow and unreliable
- Fitbit SDK is too limited to really produce anything impressive
- I have lost detailed sleep statistics lately (probably a serverside issue?)
- Software is updated, but it causes new issues as well. Release announcements does not tell any specific bug fixes. Instead Fitbit asks the users after software updates what could have been fixed?!
- Missing sometimes notifications on the watch and syncing is also unreliable
- Exercise datafield customization does not apply for some excersises
I was hoping for Fitbit to improve the software while I have owned it, but not much has changed really. I am a software designer myself and it seems to me that Fitbit just cannot deliver a software for this device!
So I am sick and tired of the Ionic... I would have bought the Vivoactive 3 music already, but the all-glass bezel worries me. Looking now deals on the Forerunner 645 Music or maybe new devices from Suunto/Polar.

New owner of 2 weeks of Adidas Ionic, looks like I already experienced the software chaos and firmware problems from day 2, I have never called a customer service line so often. After 3 factory resets, the software is still missing Adidas Apps and clockfaces. Wow, why pay extra!... Hope they get their act together!... Nice looking watch, and my Alta was really good to me for 2 years, this one got off to a bad start. First 24hrs it stop functioning, factory reset and Fitbit App updates. On my 3rd reset now, I got some new clockfaces!...Still no Adidas apps or clockfaces!....get to it guy!

Mine is AWFUL. Save your money and buy something else. Step count is wrong. The band causes a chemical burn on my wrist. Will be returning ASAP.

I am thrilled with my Ionic. It seems to be very accurate in counting steps; GPS is spot on perfect, treadmill and running apps work great; a tech loser like me was able to install my music and pandora music. It in short has done everything I hoped it would when I bought it, at $200 less than the comparable Garmin Forerunner 645 music at the time when I bought it, and about $50-100 less than the comparable apple watch.
I have not yet figured out how to use my run/walk interval app yet, but have not really tried it fully.
Other than that minor issue, wow! My Ionic is amazing.
