I'm a nurse so can't wear my fitbit at work, so it goes in my pocket.
It's counting my steps fine and these are syncing with the app but it's not syncing my 250 steps an hour.
The fitbit is showing 9 out of 9 hours but the app says 0 out of 9.
This is only an issue when I've had it in my pocket instead of on my wrist, and has only been happening this last week. The first shift was before the update and the second 2 after.

This is not a solution to your problem, but:
there's a decent chance it is not related to where your tracker is.
I find the phone app often just does not update the display for 250+ step hours. Often I can get it to update by going in and out of that function a few times. You could try checking the fitbit.com dashboard in a web browser to see if it shows the correct count. It usually has the correct data even when the phone display does not update correctly.
Again, I know this is not a solution and not trying to justify Fitbit, but just offering the possibility that it is just chance that it seems to be related to where you are wearing it, and a possibility of how to see your data.

I've found other threads where people are missing the odd hour but not entire days.
It's not syncing on the website dashboard either.
I've been in and out of that bit of the app numerous times. Forced sync repeatedly. Removed and reinstalled the app and rebooted the device
I forgot I didn't have my fitbit at work last monday so it's actually just Saturday and today this has happened. Both were after the update.
