Apple Airpods disconnect after 30 minutes

My Fitbit Ionic automatically disconnects from my Apple Airpods after 30 minutes of running.  Once I am finally able to reconnect them, they are at the lowest sound setting and I'm unable to change the volume.  Is there a way to fix this?

@catbisch -- try unpairing and then repairing them.  Here are some tips from Apple for when this issue has cropped up with other devices and airpods.

There is another thread on this.

To avoid the 30 minute dropout, once you get the music playing, press pause to stop the music, then press play again to resume it.  It shouldn't drop out after that.

I’m having the same problem. I’ve tried resetting my Ionic and my AirPods but I can’t get my ionic to play through my AirPods consistently or at a decent volume.
