Apps crashing, unable to factory reset

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I commented on a previous "solved" post that I was having the same issue, but felt like this was better addressed with a new post.

Purchased my Ionic today, got it home, updated the firmware (27.31.1.16), and the majority of the apps crash and go back to the app selection screen - including the settings app, so a factory reset has proven impossible. Occasionally, the settings app (when I can get into it) will display hex code instead of the individual clickable selections.

I've tried restarting my fitbit, changing clock faces to see if that might have been the hangup, etc., with no fix.

Hey there @Peruvianskies4, it's great to see you around the forums! Hmmm this is very strange my friend. Thanks for already troubleshooting this inconvenience, nice way to go! Smiley Very Happy

I'd recommend setting up your tracker as a new after restarting your Ionic once more, here are the steps for both recommendations:

Restart:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. Fitbit Ionic doesn't work normally, use the instructions in this article to turn your watch off and on again.

Now, let's move on with the setup process:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon.
  2. Tap Set Up a Device.
  3. Choose your device and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

Give this a go and let me know the outcome!

Unfortunately, I'm still experiencing the same problems, along with some other issues -  the screen and various things on it flicker, sometimes the clock faces become really distorted, etc. (gonna try and insert a picture, this is one example): Screen anomaly

I think I may go back to the store and exchange it for another one.
