I commented on a previous "solved" post that I was having the same issue, but felt like this was better addressed with a new post.
Purchased my Ionic today, got it home, updated the firmware (27.31.1.16), and the majority of the apps crash and go back to the app selection screen - including the settings app, so a factory reset has proven impossible. Occasionally, the settings app (when I can get into it) will display hex code instead of the individual clickable selections.
I've tried restarting my fitbit, changing clock faces to see if that might have been the hangup, etc., with no fix.

Unfortunately, I'm still experiencing the same problems, along with some other issues - the screen and various things on it flicker, sometimes the clock faces become really distorted, etc. (gonna try and insert a picture, this is one example):
I think I may go back to the store and exchange it for another one.
