Back of Ionic corroding and no longer able to charge

Is there anything I can do if it is JUST out of warranty? It turns out that many others have had this problem from my Google search. I bought my Ionic January 2020 to replace a failing Charge 2 that replaced a failing Charge, all since January 2019). I've cleaned it regularly as recommended and I don't wear it in water. I thought the paint was just wearing off the back, but it has actually been corroding. The middle charging contact appears to actually be corroding as well.  I bought 3 chargers thinking the problem was the charger before realizing it's the FitBit itself.

I contacted customer support and because it's literally just past a year, all they'll offer is a discount. I'm really frustrated by this. I've purchased 5 fitbits in the last 2 years for my family. 4 of them have had some sort of issue. 3 of them have now become unusable.  I know this should be my sign to switch to another brand, but I really do love my FitBit.

Is there anything else I can do? I'm so frustrated that they won't stand behind their product. I can't afford to spend hundreds on a new fitbit that only lasts a year 😩

Have had two that have done this . Currently having issues with ionic not pairing again love my fitbit but can not stand the short lifespan and pairing / syncing issues so will also be changing to a different brand
