@weasellyone @msjillian Thanks for your replies and for sharing your experience on this thread.

I'm glad to hear that customer support sent you replacements. They should arrive soon. Please feel free to follow these replacement set up steps for you to not loose any of your previous data.

@jjoonathan I hope you're doing well. Thanks for sharing your experience with customer support. That's unfortunate. By any chance, have you contacted them again to let them know that your Ionic is still draining the battery? You should use your open case to inform them; maybe they can check again?

@Samurai67 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for also sharing your experience with Ionic's battery on this thread.

Firstly, please check these helpful article providing some tips you can use to maximize the battery on your Ionic

If the battery keeps draining quickly after trying that; let me know!

Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

Hi Dansha,

tou should contact fitbit support and they will explain to to you what you need to do ... If your battery completely died then everything is clear but if still work a bit you will need to follow few steps that fitbit will be able to monitoring your watch. If battery is not good anymore you will probably get new watch like me.

Wish you all the Best,Tomaz

@Dansha Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with Ionic's battery not charging.

Have you tried performing a restart on your watch? This has helped other users in the past.

Also, please take a look at these solutions for batteries that are not charging. Try them out to check if that sorts this out.

If non of that works, please follow @Samurai67's suggestion about contacting customer support for them to monitor your watch.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

@SantiR like the other ones in this thread, I'm also suffering from battery issues after the last update. One thing I don't understand is why it was working ok prior to update and suddenly went that bad and a replacement is necessary instead of rolling back the update? I reset the device, did a factory reset and battery lasts for 1,5days without using GPS/Music/Always connected Off.

Like the other guy from Vietnam, I live outside United States, what turn things complicated for replacements.

You guys have to sort this out, otherwise international customers will be wary of buying your devices.

Hello,

My FitBit Ionic is also dying very quickly. I've done the following items:

-Restarting

-un-pair from phone then do a "Factory Reset"

It drains 50% overnight, when I'm at 80% and use GPS it does not last long.

Can someone please help me? I've had the watch less than a year.

Really frustrating how can a 300€ plus item have this behavior

I was thinking about getting an Ionic after receiving a 25% discount (only $179.95) from Fitbit for my Blaze (purchased June 2017) and replacement Blaze (replaced March 2018) batteries and sensors dying, but am now reconsidering when reading this thread!

Got my Ionic as a Christmas gift.  Like others expressed, had a battery life of 4-5 days and all of sudden  Iucky if I get 2 daysmax.   Tried resetting; pairing/pairing; turning of GPS and notifications, etc.

So, is this dying battery a common issue for the Ionic?   Feel bad about having recommended this tracker to friends...

I just deleted my 25% offer from Fitbit.  As good as the prices seem, I don't want to waste another dime on their products at this time.  When my Blaze is 100% dead, I will switch back to my Zip to track steps and buy a smart watch in the future once they have worked out more of the bugs.

My Fitbit ionic is less than a year old. I was getting 5-7 days of battery life which was awesome. Suddenly this week I have to charge daily. Nevermind the fact that my notifications will not ever display properly and rarely ever work at all.

Extremely unhappy about this purchase.

I use a Samsung Android phone to sync my Ionic.  Unfortunately, my Ionic went totally dead this weekend.   I have it on the charger right nbow to see if it will come back to life.   In the meantime, I back using my old Charge 2.

Thanks for getting back guys @SunsetRunner and @dysmoy! I'd recommend checking these tips to maximize the battery on Ionic. There are several factors that may be draining your battery. Usage of features and apps is the most common one.

Additionally, I'd recommend taking a look at the article: Why isn't my battery charging?

If your phone is running the Android 8 operating system, you may see a notification letting you know the Fitbit app is using battery resources. For more information, see Why is the Fitbit app sending a notification to my Android phone?

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

I was using minimum number of functions, having turned off GPS and notifications of any sort.  Turned off the widget and all day syncing as well.

Anyway, it's moot.  The Ionic died a quick death (less than 10 months).  I have been trying to charge it back to life for two days with no success.

Am looking to see if my gifter still has the receipt for this fitbit.

In the meantime, my old Charge 2 is still working, while I try to research what other waterproof fitness/activity tracker to consider next.
