Battery draining, HR monitor and Steps Stopped

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My ionic went flat very quickly yesterday, charged it up over night and now the HR monitor is blank after working perfectly for 3 months since I bought it. It also did a firmware update but the HR wasn’t working before that. I have cleaned the back of it, done a restart and not wearing it any differently then before, checked that HR is turned on, green light is flashing. I have also noticed this morning that it was rapidly counting steps even when u wasn’t wearing it, like 6 steps a second, done a restart, it’s now not counting steps when I do them as well.

Update, after 5 hours, it has gone from 100% to 20% of battery level.

Please help, this has been a great device but disappointed that it is now not working correctly.

Try doing a full factory reset to see if that fixes things. To ensure things go smoothly, it's best to remove the Ionic from your account and unpair it from your phone's Bluetooth settings beforehand.

If this doesn't help, I would suggest contacting customer support

Tried this and setup the device again, HR is now working but steps isn’t and the battery is draining at 20% per hour still

The same thing happened to me today. I was out running errands when I checked my steps and realized nothing had changed in about 2 hours. I restarted my Ionic and it is working again, but the battery has gone from 74% to 31% in just a few hours. Does this have anything to do with the new update? I don't always have access to a charger if I have to plug it in several times a day.

Thanks.

Hello,

I ended up talking to fitbit via an online chat.

We tried to do a factory reset on a couple of occasions but it didn’t fix it. It reduces 20% per hour and the Fitbit people were able to see this and now I have sent it away to them for replacement.

i suggest you remove the ionic from your phones Bluetooth, remove it from your phone Fitbit app and then do a factory reset (in settings/about, this will remove all apps etc from you Fitbit)

Then set it up as if it new, takes ages and see if that fixes it. If it doesn’t connect Fitbit through their website. They have been great so far.

Will keep you posted.

Thank you.  Will give that a try and see what happens. My Ionic was fully charged last night, and this morning it was down to 41%.

Same here! Except my Fitbit isn’t even counting steps!😞. Battery has been draining quickly. Fully charged it yesterday around 6pm. Turned off notifications. And it’s already down to 51%.
