I am really disappointed as my watch is reasonably new.   It would last about 4 days and this was using it to log treadmill runs and weights.   I also notice that today during the first part of my run it was not showing the correct heart rate!!   Below even walking!.   It seems to have gone to pot since update.  Has anyone else had this problem?

Since the update my ionic is not even lasting 24 hours. Charge it on a morning because it's gone flat in the middle of the night while sleep tracking. Not even used GPS tracking. I've contacted support because I want a new battery or they admit the firmware is pish.

@Maleka58, I have not experienced any of those problems with the Ionic, either before the firmware update, nor after it.  I have a Polar chest strap that I use with the Elliptical, and the HR reported by the Ionic is nearly identical to the Polar chest strap.  The battery on the Ionic normally lasts about 5 days for me.

Did you restart your tracker after the firmware update?

Thanks for the reply 🙂   I do not like chest straps as I have a large bust and I find them uncomfortable LOL!   Not a problem for you guys!   I can't remember if I restated tracker as did it at about 2 am!!!.   I have just finished my usual run on the treadmill and the graph and heart rate and intensity did not march what my watch said at the time.    Do you think a total reset would work or just a tracker one again?

I noticed the same issue with battery life. Much shorter than before the update. It also seems kind of sudden. Previous day in the afternoon I had nearly 50% battery indicator, and following morning the Ionic is dead.

I am also not getting my low power notifications anymore.

Yes,  it happened the as the next morning after the update.   This is silly as you cannot change the battery on it!   They need to do an update fix for it and obviously let people know it is a battery fix otherwise people will not want to update their watches anymore!  My watch in only a month old!

I did a full reset (Factory Reset in Settings->About). It initially bricked my Ionic (red X on the screen with "Data not cleared, sync & try again"). It took me hours to try and get it out of bricked mode. It would not work with my Android phone, but eventually I managed to get it working with an iPad (and once it was up and running on the iPad I was able to get it added back on Android).

After the reset I was fully charged on Wednesday evening and the Ionic was dead on Saturday afternoon (so maybe 3 days compared to 4-5 days before the update). When it died on Saturday I tried to turn it back ON, and it came back ON showing 14% battery left.

I am done messing with this, and will send it back.

Got my Ionic in November and battery life was great (approx 4 days) until about April when it was getting steadily worse and by May it was max 24 hrs. Contacted Fitbit support and have to say the response was superb. Had me do a reset then monitored the performance remotely for next 24 hrs. Then confirmed there was a fault and sent me a replacement the next day. Still don't know why it happened, but customer service was excellent and new Ionic performing well. Just hope it was a one off!

Mine did that, but to be fair the Fitbit support was great. They asked me
to do a few things and then tracked the battery decline remotely over a few
days. By doing this they could see the problem and replaced it immediately.
New one has been fine.
