Battery life suddenly dropped

Hi all,

I have an Ionic fitbit for about 1,5 years now and suddenly last week the battery started going from 100% to 0% in about a 30 hours.
So today I checked it every 15 minutes and it seems like the battery is draining 4%/15min which is a whopping 12% drop/hour DURING REST. Btw, the bluetooth of my phone was off during this test (so the fitbit wasn't talking to the phone all the time which could explain it).

Today I reset the fitbit back to factory settings. However, a first impression is that the problem is still there. This should not be the case with a fitbit that is only 1,5 years old?!

Anyone any idea's? Would be quite dissapointing if this is standard after 1,5 years :-(.

Thanks,

Ben

Welcome to the Community @BenVan. Thanks for taking the time to share details about what you're experiencing.

I appreciate the troubleshooting you've performed. I would like you to restart your watch and follow these tips to extend your Ionic's battery life. You can try charging it but change USB ports, it can be that your watch isn't fully charging.

Let me know how it goes.

I bought the Ionic (Adidas version) this summer.   Set it up and battery life was about 4 days.  Now the first week in Sept, battery life is about 1 day.  I have notifications off, no push music, manual sync, display brightness auto.  GPS was set to off in all exercise settings.  I just set GPS off in my dashboard.  Will charge today and see how it goes.  If fails, I will need to know how to get a replacement.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Ionic and its battery life. I would like you to make sure you've fully charged your Ionic and then make sure you've followed these tips to extend your Fitbit device's battery life. (I know you already followed some of them but you can check the ones that you haven't done)

autosync was OFF.  screen wake was OFF.  I leave watch on charger overnight and in a.m. it reads 100%.  so I'm not sure how else to confirm that I've properly charged it.

Now the watch survives about 12 hours before complete discharge.  I did a reset and a factory reset.  Now when I swipe down from the top, there is no quick settings to edit.  I cannot turn off the screen wake.  But in any event, the watch is still performing poorly.  After full charge, taking off charger, 5 hours later - it's at 60%.  When does someone other than me accept that the battery is either bad or that some internal hw failure (cold solder joint) or sw (new feature?) is draining the battery?
