The Fitbit App Store start to have some very nice apps. Since the App Store is very limited (i.e. no possibility to vote/comment, lack of sections, lack of new apps highlights, impossible to filter, impossible to share link and so on) I would like to star this post where to list the apps we like more.
Ideally, one post = one app

I start with The Moon by Dai Nit.
This app shows you the current lunar phase and the moonrise and moonset times. It also adds as a bonus the sunrise and the sunset times.
The graphic is excellent, only the icon would be nice it it was a little more cartoonish (in line with the other preinstalled apps). It makes use of the GPS to retrieve the location and therefore update the data.
However everytime you launch it you have to wait the GPX fix to read the data, I would prefer if it remembers the previous results.

Today Fitbit celebrated the winners of the first competition #made4fitbit.

In the next posts therefore I will write about the winners.
First place in the Health + Fitness category: Water Logged by Tyler Leonhardt
The missing piece of the Fitbit echosystem in the Ionic: a way to track your water intake. The app is very lightweight (only 28.4kB) and had an immediate although not so attractive look. As mentioned it sync with your Fitbit account.
The only flaw of this app (apart the already mentioned look) is that it doesn't offer any sort of reminder to drink, very important for me, so I'm going to stick for now with my favorite Android app on my smartphone. And did I mention that the icon is horrible?

Personal note: in the Fitbit App Store there are 2 other similar apps (Hydrate by EmmaEm and Ionic Water by Brian Ouellette). Give them a try

Until the reliability of the connectivity is not fixed, the most interesting projects are held back by the developers. Such as agenda, weather, photo share, notes or smart data.
Anyway: If you miss something on the Ionic, just let us (the developers) know. Water intake was never on my todo list.

I'm not sure if someone is already developing this or plans to, but a Travelbit/Drivebit style app would be very useful on the Ionic.
