I originally bought a fitbit surge, which broke. Fitbit replaced this 5 times, then on the last issue replaced with an ionic. Great you may think !!. The ionic has just died 1 yr after being sent. They class the warranty starting from the original purchase (surge). So have deemed it acceptable to offer a 25% discount as a loyalty bonus for an 6 items that have never even come close to lasting the original warranty period. Buyer beware !!

You do well to point that out - it's tripped a number of people up.
The clause in the warranty terms is:
"Any replacement Product will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer"
And you can read the full terms via the link at the bottom of this page or via https://www.fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty

I'm sure it has, but how can it possibly be enforced when none of the surges lasted six months. They sent replacements that were faulty after apparently being checked vigorously. The ionic has barely made its 1st birthday. One day fine, then started discharging within 6 hrs whilst sat at a desk. I'm no athlete, but surely people should receive what they have paid for. An item fit for purpose. It's frustrating.

Silly me, I should have learned the first time around. I had the HR which was replaced 3 times in 6 months. Then when the Ionic came out I bought it. First one which I absolutely loved lasted approximately 7 months before it started to loose time. Fitbit replaced that one as it was still under warranty. Now since the update in July, the replacement is doing the exact same thing but won't connect to blue tooth or keep connected to wifi. The heart monitor has been a little wacky lately also. I am pretty sure that they won't replace this one as it is outside the original purchase warranty date, but I am waiting to hear back from them. Had contact with them on messenger but all their suggestions just made everything worse. Now my Ionic is loosing about 5 hours a day. Every time I plug it in the charge it will randomly sync and seems to damage the battery more.
You can get fool me once, maybe twice but I won't be suckered in a third time. I am really disappointed in the fact that these Fitbits seem to be a disposable product with an expensive price tag. They have a great concept but can't seem to produce it and maintain it correctly

Totally hear you. I love the concept, the community and I loved the surge. It's just sad they are fit for landfill after a couple of months. They have offered me a 25% discount on a new one which is ridiculous. I wouldn't mind I've had a Samsung s7 since new and still works perfectly and an Xbox one since the 1st edition which is the same. Fingers crossed they don't, if they were to die now I'm well out of warranty and wouldn't hesitate to update with new ones. It's totally frustrating.
