Bike ride not transferring to Strava

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

Just bought the Ionic, went for a run next day and the Ionic recognised it fine, also transferred to Strava. Following day went out for a 3hr mountain bike ride, all recorded in the Fitbit App, but not on Strava - help. Very frustrating, have had the Surge for 2 years and all files transferred without problems, I have now bought the premium device and am having immediate issues.

All help appreciated

Same, my sat rides uploaded to strava. Sunday ride has not uploaded!

@Borochris  It may be just be a temporary sync glitch between Fitbit and Strava. I take it steps and everything else is syncing fine?

Yep, all fine apart from the Bike data. As I say, I went for a short run last Sat AM and the route transferred without any issues. Fingers crossed Fitbit sort this out ASAP

@Borochris I tend to use a different device for bike rides synced to Stava so can't comment if there any current syncing issues with Fitbit to Strava with those.

I can say that any runs or walks sync fine from Fitbit Strava with no Issues for me. I will do a test later with GPS under a walk to check that is syncing across the servers later this afternoon  if that helps?

Tony,

I have just tried to export the TCX file for yesterday's ride from the Fitbit site and got a message stating it wasn't possible right now and that Fitbit are looking into it. I wonder if there is a bike synching issue???

Would be good if someone from Fitbit would respond to this issue!

@Borochris tried a GPS walk on my lunch break that is exporting fine.

The only thing I have noticed is the GPS plot appears to be much more squiggly for me since the firmware update I did also notice that the GPS keeps dropping out and reconnecting during the walk multiple times, this did not happen either for me before the firmware update.

Hi @SantiR Hope all is good. Would it be possible to check if your tech guys had any reports of what @Borochris is experiencing with upload? or what I have experinced with the GPS plots  today?

Before I did the test my Ionic was charged fully to 100% and I done a couple of reboots on it too.

@Rich_Laue Thanks for that @Borochris I would do another test ride when you can with your Ionic to see if the issue is resolved then post back in the thread which Rich linked above if you need further assistance.. @Rich_Laue my issue I believe to be either GPS or or a software related glitch so I will wait to see what @SantiR cones back with and if needed I will log a case with Fitbit Support.

@Borochris @MickeyEyes Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with bike rides not syncing to Strava.

Please check this thread in which I merged a bunch of posts that were about this same topic. I'm providing updates there. We are aware of this and looking into it. Strava has also addressed this. Check my post and follow the link there to the official third-party board for more updates.

@Rich_Laue Thanks for your great help and for sharing that thread!

@Tony.r I hope you're doing well! Thanks for tagging me on this thread. Thanks for reporting the GPS situation. I will check into that and let you know any updates. If this keeps happening, filing a case with customer support is also a good idea.

I'm good thanks @SantiR please do update us if you find anything, I will keep an eye on the GPS and do some further tests, perhaps just a temporary glitch but if it continues to persist I will get it logged with Fitbit Support, many thanks.

I think so, I had a run the day before which tracked on the Ionic, uploaded to the Fitbit App and synced to Strava. Just seems to be the bike activity that isn’t transferring.

Hi,

Went for a ride last night and seems like the issue is resolved. Ionic transferred the ride to the Fitbit App, also the ride was relatively quickly uploaded onto Strava. Whatever was done by Fitbit or Strava, thanks.

I have had an ongoing issue with the sudden inability to sync data from bide rides from Fitbit to Strava.  I have also been unable to upload Fitbit TCX files to Strava, the latter reporting a server error.

I did a bike ride yesterday, synced fine to fitbit app, its been almost 24 hrs and my bike ride has not synced with Strava yet, i had a ride last week take 24 hours or so to sync and upload to strava. What is the fix for this issue. I bought this ionic because it stated it automatically uploads to strava but ive been have sporadic issues with this ionic owning it since November 2017. Can you fix my issue please
