Bike tracking with another device and fitbit app

I have an ionic and I'm quite a keen cyclist. 50-60 mile rides are fairly routine. My fitbit ionic battery cannot last for such a cycle when GPS tracking. For example, last ride starting at nearly 100% battery my ionic lasted until mile 39ish. Half of this time I was using music on the ionic, which requires power of course. I like my ionic, but this seems like a fairly major limitation. I'd like to find a way around this. I'd be happy for example, to use a different device like a Garmin to GPS track and combine this data with the ionic data without using the ionic to GPS track, since this is presumably what is draining the battery so much. Is there are workaround here? I don't want to use my phone to GPS track as it isn't up to it and it's too bulky.

@adamstokes8 It's nice to see you in the Fitbit Community. Thank you for getting in touch about this.

I appreciate the detailed information shared, I'll be happy to help!

If you use built-in GPS regularly, Ionic has a battery life of up to 10 hours, please follow these tips to extend your Fitbit Ionic battery life.

Regarding your inquiry about using Ionic and another device, it's not possible to combine this data. However, you could try using a third party app on your phone and then it will sync automatically to your Fitbit account.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.
