Biking distance very inaccurate on Ionic

Today I cycled 43.73 km according to my FitBit Ionic. I plotted the route on google maps and measured 58 km there. Can anyone explain this big difference?

Same issue here. I noticed that every time the Ionic loses GPS connection (and mine does that very often) the Fitbit app doesn’t count those chunks of time. Even if I'm biking a straight line. Its like I teletransported through space.

Maybe it's a problem which came with the latest update. I did'nt noticed it before.
