Hi,
the Ionic is able to control the music player of the phone via Bluetooth Classic -- it registers as HID, as far as I see. Doesn't this have a negative effect of the battery life?
Yesterday I tried out this nice feature and found out that the Ionic doesn't disconnect the "Bluetooth Classic" connection even if I switch the player in the watch from phone back to the internal. I woke up this morning and the battery of the Ionic lost over 30%.
So, if this battery drain is caused by the Bluetooth connection so please implement an auto disconnect after some time of inactivity.
Thanks...

I noticed the classic doesn't disconnect as well.
What percent did you start at before going to sleep?

I think they implemented it already and now it's annoying that it automatically disconnect after sometime and I can't reconnect in the middle of a workout session. Is there a way to keep it connected?

Hi All,
I use BT classic all the time, Samsung S8, I do not however use my Bose Wireless earphones, I prefer the wired ones.
I haven't noticed any dramatic drain on the battery on the Ionic nor on the phone, the latest FitBit application seems to behave better then the last version too in phone usage terms.
I know this may not help that much think I charged yesterday went for 3 walks with GPS on and I am at 75% today more than 24 hours later.
Oh and I wear my Ionic overnight, only time it comes off is when I shower.
Barry

I realise this is an old thread but just for the record when using Ionic firmware version: 27.33.1.30, the "Ionic (Classic)" Bluetooth connection is dropped when one changes the audio source from "phone" to "watch" in the Ionic "Music Controls".
The connection also reliably turns on again when the audio source is changed to "phone" again.
This didn't work after the first pairing, though.
I had to delete the pairing on the phone and pair again for all the above to work.
Anyhow, it is great that the "Ionic (Classic)" connection is only maintained when actually needed.
