Brand New Ionic - won't turn on

Just bought my husband an Ionic for Christmas.  We opened the box last night, and it was at at 50% battery, so we charged it over night.  This am, the screen was dark and we couldn't start it, even after reading the help messages on how to do so.  Any thoughts???.

I'm sorry for your problems @hdevlin04.

My first thought, would be to remove the ionic from it's charger, then plug it back in.

Second would be to press and hold in the left and lower right buttons.

Has the Ionic been setup yet?

Where you able to install the firmware?

We were unable to complete set up due to the display not working.  We tried restarting it as suggested, and disconnected / reconnect the charging cable.  Still no luck. 😞
