Brand new Fitbit Ionic not charging

I received my new Fitbit Ionic today. I took it out of the box and plugged the charge cable in and connected it to a charge base. The base is working as I had just used it to charge my phone. I have tried charging it at the mains and also attached to my computer but there is no power to the Fitbit at all. I have tried to turn it on and reset it via the left key and bottom right but nothing is working. There has been no power to it since I got it.

When you plugged it in, did the Ionic turn on? If so it is charging, but until the tracker is setup i dont think there will be any sign of it charging. 

Dieting the setup process, did the app ask you to charge the ionic?

The Ionic hasn't turned on at all yet. I have been charging it on and off for 3 hours now, with 2 hours of those continuous.

Then I would go back to where you purchased the Ionic

Identical happened to me today. I took my brand new fitbit ionic out of the box, put it on charge 4 hours ago and it is completely dead. Doesn't respond to anything, touch, pressing buttons, reset doesn't work. I tried several outlets, computer, nothing works. What happened with your issue?

Personally with the Ionic @MBB13 I would use the phone charger. My ionic while charging draws more current than a computers USB port is able to supply.

Thanks Rich, I'm sending mine back, it seems completely dead. Must be factory issue.
