I received my brand new ionic in the mail today, I set it up, following the instructions in the app. The watch was responsive at first, it gave me the code and I input it into the app, the app seemed to be doing its thing.
When I got to the point where the app was telling me to put the Ionic on and swipe this way or that for specific functions, I found that the watch was stuck on the logo screen.
The logo just keeps flashing. That's all it does.
I looked around online for a solution and I found other people have had a similar problem. Generally they got to actually use their watches first though, so this may be a record.
Some threads suggested resets or factory resets, but my ionic is not responding to any of these. No combination of button presses seems to make a bit of difference.
I tried deleting the Ionic from my account and adding it again, but the app does not recognize the watch at all now.
I can't even switch it off and since it's on full charge so it will probably just keep flashing the world's worst advertisement for Fitbit for at least five days.
I realized that some of the people had to get replacements, because this appears to be a known issue with the Ionic that effectively bricks the watch for some unknown reason, but since I only just received the bloody thing, I'm not exactly filled with a great amount of confidence in the brand.
I'm looking for a work around, or else I'll just try to return it.
Any suggestions?
