Calorie burn is many times the normal rate on my Ionic

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When I went to bed last night I had burned 1700 calories. When I woke up, my Ionic said that I had burned 3400 calories for yesterday. Today, it is indicating that I have already burned my normal daily calorie amount and I've only been awake for 1 hour. I have reset my Ionic and nothing has changed. This is making my Ionic essentially useless!  What can I do to fix this?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @pjf_CA.

Thank you for trying to resolve the issue with your Fitbit Ionic before contacting us.

I would like to mention that your body burns calories even if you’re asleep or not moving, that's why you see calories burned on your device when you wake up and will notice this number increase throughout the day. For more information about how your Watch calculates your calories burned, please visit this article and open the menu "How does my Fitbit device calculate calories burned?".

In addition, please make sure your age, height, weight and gender entered in your Fitbit account are correct. For instructions on how to manage your Fitbit profile, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I change my birthdate, sex, height, or weight?".

Whether the information above doesn't help, you can set up your Watch as a replacement device:

  1. Tap the Today tab EdsonFitbit_0-1636933506040.png, and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap Set Up a Device.
  3. Choose your device and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

Hope this helps.
