When viewing the exercise summary after ending a swim exercise session and before clicking the Done button on the Ionic, only lap split times for the first ten laps and then another later lap separated by elipses (...) are displayed. A message after the last displayed lap states:
"Check the mobile app to see remaining laps."
After syncing the Ionic with the mobile app, the laps with the split times are not displayed, but rather laps with calories. CALORIES?!?!?! REALLY?!?!?! Does anyone who uses a smart watch to track swimming actually care more about CALORIES than time splits? When you are doing a swim workout and trying to stay in zone 2 for 500 meters, do you gauge that by CALORIES? NO! You gauge that by pace...as in TIME. When you look back to analyze your workout to determine how well you stayed in your target zones, for swimming you use SPLIT TIMES!!!
This is a BUG!!! This is not a new feature request because it is not working as it was obviously intended to work based on the message that is displayed on the Ionic Swim Exercise Summary screen. Aside from that, no serious athlete gets any use from swim splits displaying ESTIMATED calories burned!
This is another issue with my FitBit that is driving me toward the purchase of a smart watch that supports features that athletes want, such as a Garmin or Polar. I am not alone in wanting this, nor do I hold onto any delusional beliefs that FitBit will listen to the user community and fix this BUG!
I really want to like my Ionic, but FitBit seems to be dead-set on preventing it. They are calling this a feature request instead of what it really is...a BUG! Apparently, they think that this relieves them from the obligation to FIX it. This attitude is indicative of a company that cares more about marketing and flash and selling units to the ignorant masses than delivering a product that athletes can use and will buy again when the first one wears out.

Welcome to the Community @JTJust. Thanks for detailed information you've shared in your post.
Your feedback is appreciated, we're always working to provide you with the best features that can help you reaching your exercise goals.
As you mentioned when you set laps in your Ionic while swimming, this will alert you when you reach x amount of the lap that you set. When you sync your watch, the summary that will show will be the cue that you choose, duration, stroke and the calories burned during that lap.
I know you mentioned this isn't a new feature request but the best place to make your voice heard and implement new information shown in laps will be posting it in our Feature Suggestion board. Those ideas are reviewed by our team and the status will change based in Fitbit's plans.
Rest assure that our team is always reviewing your comments and implementing features based in what you would like to see in Fitbit.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
