Has anyone updated the app and managed to get their device to work? I've spent at least a half-hour each of the past three days, pre- and post-update following everything that the moderators have suggested and always end up back at the same spot (icon on the home screen). I've updated the app, restarted my phone and still can't pair my Ionic. If anybody has had success, what was your sequence of activities? Many thanks in advance.

Have you had a look and searched the forum? There is a wealth of community input from months and years ago on the same issue(s) you are having. Suggest you spend some time researching previous thread posts even back months and a year or two. Unfortunately it's all been discussed before and any reset/restart solutions WILL have been previously posted. Nothing new unfortunately.
There are 451 pages of threads. But you shouldn't need to read every single one. But the knowledge IS there.
If not, then there is NO fix unfortunately.

I updated my Android phone app today and it seems to work great.

I had to let battery die & delete my iconic off my phone for a few days. I just charged it today & reconnected it to phone. So far it’s working again- but it’s only been an hour or 2.

Um, I have. That's where I found the guidsnce leading me to the many attenpts I've had to restart my device. Maybe I should have been more specific about whether anybody has had success with the update that was released THIS WEEK. The comment from shipo below was helpful.
