Can I transfer my playlist to Ionic with Pandora Prime?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Does anyone know if a subscription to Pandora Prime allows personal playlists to be transferred to my Ionic?  This music feature has been nothing but a nightmare🤯.  I don’t use Apple music, although I have an iPhone and a MacBook.  Not a techie...need someone to dumb it down for me...thanks! 😉

Welcome to the Community @Gypsierunner. Yes, if you have Pandora Premium you can sync 3 of your most-played Pandora stations. You can learn more about it by checking How do I listen to Pandora stations on my Fitbit watch?

Also, I wonder what kind of issue have you been having with the music feature?

Keep me posted.

Thanks Sylvia for responding.  I don’t have the Premium Pandora but I have the ad-free upgrade.  I want to be able to sync playlists too not just stations.  I’ve tried using the desktop site, but I don’t use iTunes so it was just a hassle.  I currently use Rhapsody/Napster for creating playlists but would switch to Pandora Prime if the option of syncing my own playlists were available...which is the main reason I got the Ionic.

Thanks for getting back @Gypsierunner. You will need to have Pandora Premium or Plus in order to transfer music to your Ionic. Remember that you can only transfer music that you own or don't require a license also, some old songs may not transfer due to copyright protections (known as DRM encryption).

Hope this helps!

So if I have the premium Pandora, I ca transfer playlists that I’ve created?  Stations and playlists are different.  I want to be able to transfer my own playlists.  Is this feature available?

Thanks for getting back @Gypsierunner. Yes, you can transfer your Playlists and Podcasts to your Fitbit Ionic. You can store over 300 songs and podcasts on your watch depending on the file sizes. For example, a 60 minute podcast takes up more storage space than a 3 minute song. You can learn more about it by checking How do I listen to music and podcasts on my Fitbit watch?

Hope this helps!

Silvia,

I haven’t tried transferring as of yet but I still experience trouble transferring the 3 stations from Pandora.   Sometimes they sync, sometimes they don’t, then sometimes a station will just show up out of nowhere.  Takes forever and a day to transfer 3 stations??  Frustrating!

But can you transfer 'playlists' instead of stations?

As far as I know, it will only transfer the top 3 stations, not playlists. I couldn't find any references in the documentation to "playlists", except for loading personal mp3 music.

Can you provide step by step instructions on how to download a “playlist” not a “station” from pandora? Thank you

A warm welcome to the Fitbit Community @HollySto! The steps will change a bit depending if you're using Mac, Windows 10 PC or Windows 7 or 8 PC. Please check the following article How do I download playlists to my Fitbit watch?

I still cannot download stations.  I have Pandora Prime but my Ionic will not download.  I have added my Pandora account and it shows my Thumbprint radio but the Ionic keeps telling me to "use your computer to start transferring music".  I have Pandora on my Windows 10 device, with all playlists available.  I have forced a sync multiple times.  Yes....my ionic and my computer on on the same network. yes....I have a Bluetooth connection.   Yes...the devices are synced because my dashboard is showing my daily activity.

NO....I do not have music on my Ionic.

Quite honestly, I am beginning to think I have a $300 dollar digital watch.

I can never sync 3 stations, and it takes all day to just get one sync'd. It would be good if you could choose any station you want which is not a workout station. I don't think this would make me want to purchase Pandora Premium for much longer.

Not sure if it works with Pandora, but you could try the DZR Music Downloader (works with Deezer and Spotify), see here; TIP - Use DZR Music Downloader for Spotify

Sylvia - you still provided instructions to download from itunes of windows media player. This is not the question we all have. How do we develop a personal playlist (not a station) from Pandora to our fitbit?

I’m not sure if we will ever get answers on how to do this...I’ve given up and pretty much have gone back to carrying my phone with me for music.  I’ve had nothing but problems all around with my Ionic since I got it, not just with the music feature.

Why bother with doing it in Pandora.  Just download and do it in the FitBit application on a PC or Mac.  Until FitBit actually either provide support for controlling music from any app running in the phone this is really the only option.  (Note, I know you can 'link' to Phone using the 'Classic Bluetooth' - but this is not a solution just a mess of poor support and coding - what happened to the Pebble devs who got this right first time)

I tried doing that on my Mac...didn’t work and it’s not convenient and it takes forever.  I don’t carry my laptop around with me everywhere and I don’t have hours to sit and download music.  I got this FitBit for the music capability and the FitBit pay feature, which only supports a few banks.  Should’ve gotten the IWatch🙈

Ah I see your issue now.  You are using Apple products and therefore you can't ever expect them to work with any other technology. 🤐

But at least they work😉
