Hi i'm a member of the Junior Team GB Diving squad, i've been suffering frequent injuries of late and my physio says I need to keep a track of how many calories I burn each week to make sure i'm eating enough to sustain my body through my intensive training schedule. A fit bit would be a perfect way of me being able to do this accurately but just wondering if it would be able to withstand somersaults and impacting the water from 3m high as I spend 12 and a half hours per week doing this and a further 14 hours in dry land training plus school so looking for something that could track my entire week.

Thanks

Not entirely sure of the forces involved but at a guess I’m betting “no”. Diving into water from 3m creates a significant pressure that may well be in excess of the 5m static pressure the Ionic is guaranteed for. But I’m hypothesising and haven’t gone into the physics at all 😉

Thanks very much, I think the safest option would probably be to track my dry land session and then just double that data to get a rough idea for the pool 🙂
