Can anyone help me figure this out...

Good evening everyone,

So I am getting very frustrated with my Ionic. My wife and I are having the same problem as many other users with my watch not syncing with my mobile device or Windows 10 PC. We have Moto Z Droid Force Edition phones and I'm not too upset about those not syncing because they aren't on the list of compatible devices. However, we have two Windows 10 PCs with bluetooth built-in that the watch also will not sync with. I spent an hour with tech support last night going through troubleshooting steps only for her to tell me that my laptop isn't compatible. I insisted that wasn't the case and she offered to send my issue to a higher tier tech support that "Specialized in Ionic issues". Only for him to email me the same schpeel "Your device isn't compatible". I sent back that I HAVE, infact, on two occasions gotten the watch to sync. Uploaded music. Downloaded one app. And that the Fitbit app on Windows 10 and in the blutooth settings on the computer itself says they are "Connected" to the Ionic. He replied "As you may know, the Ionic uses bluetooth 4.0". After a little digging in my laptop's device manager and a cross reference to the bluetooth Special Interest Group website it turns out that my laptop uses version 6 of the LMP (Link Management Protocol). Which means that my laptop actually runs on the bluetooth 4.0 specification, the same exact specification that the Ionic uses.

So my questions is, in what way is my laptop NOT compatible with the Ionic, when they run the same bluetooth specification and Fitbit itself says Windows 10 PCs ARE compatible with it?

It may be a shot in the dark, but have you tried seeing if your Fitbit app is up to date?  FYI mine has the same specifications, and it is the only way I can get my Ionic to sync.  But my app is up to date, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Are you trying sync through the phone or laptop. @TribalFury2976

If the two are 50 or so feet please turn Bluetooth off on the device your not syncing through.

When support says your device is not compatable are they refereeing to the phone or laptop.

I've tried syncing with both the phone and the laptop. Customer support suggested turning off the bluetooth on the device I wasn't actively trying to sync with also, and I made sure to do that. Unfortunately it didn't help 😕

When they said the device wasn't compatible they were referring to both the phone and both of the laptops running Windows 10.
