Can not pair my Huawei mate 20 pro

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi I cannot pair my ionic with my Huawei mate 20 Pro. When I turn on the Bluetooth my phone will not pick up my watch so I unable to get notifications. I guess my phone is not supported and if so any idea if my mate 20 Pro will be supported in the near future?

Thanks.

Hi, @Tfh1974, there are known issues connecting Fitbits (and actually many other Bluetooth devices) with Huawei Lite phones.  Please see this help article for Fitbit's statement on this.  I believe that this is because the Huawei Lite phones have a different Bluetooth protocol.

If the Mate 20 Pro handles Bluetooth similarly to the Lite versions, then your phone is unlikely to work with your Fitbit.  I believe this is a relatively new phone, so I don't know whether its BT is like the Lite versions or not.

A warm welcome to the Community @SunsetRunner! Currently, Huawei Mate 20 Pro isn't listed as a compatible device. You may want to try this syncing troubleshooting but I can't confirm it will always sync because it hasn't been tested by Fitbit.

I have th huawei mate 20 Pro and it works fine with the versa, you just have to go into the phone manager and turn off the automatic battery manger for the fit bit app

Any idea when Fitbit will get their act together on adding Huawei Mate 20 Pro to the sync list???

It has been one of the most advertised Android phones for some time yet still there are sync issues?

I have a Fitbit Ionic which was fine with my previous Google phone but appears to be pretty useless with the Huawei mate 20 pro

You would think with the amount of enquirers fit bit would get this fixed with Huawei

A warm welcome to the Community @Rossjm93 and @Ellisn1966. It's great to see you around @KellieCollins. Sorry for the delay on my response.

I was checking the list of supported devices and the Huawei Mate Pro 20 isn't on the list. This might be the reason why it's not syncing as expected. You can try the syncing troubleshooting but I can't confirm that this will sync smoothly as it hasn't been tested by Fitbit yet.

Any tips that you can share with other users are more than welcome. Smiley Happy

Yes I know it doesn’t work however when is it going to get on the compatible list

So many people on the forum are saying the same thing. The steps you said don’t work or if they do work only for a day

I have had my mate20pro and versa for over a month and have not experienced any problems. Have you tried turning off the power manager for the fitbit app?

How do I do that

Go into huawei phone manager app, click battery then app launch. Find the fitbit app and deselect it (manage manually) . Otherwise huawei detects it is consuming power and tries to shut it down. I read this on the italien thread and it worked for me.

I can't help notice the core question has not been answered.  Can you confirm whether Fitbit is actually working to ensure compatability with the Mate 20 Pro, which, as has been pointed out, is a massive seller?  Because if not, this Charge 3 Special Edition is getting returned.

Hey @KellieCollins. Thanks for getting back. I'm glad to hear that's working for you.

Thanks for sharing what you found on the Italian Community and worked for your @Rossjm93

Welcome to the Community @SunsetRunner. I don't have any specific information about what are the new mobile devices that Fitbit is currently testing and adding them to the compatible list. However, my recommendation will be to keep an eye on the list.
