Can sync music with Macbook, but not sync tracker

I have a macbook pro. It has bluetooth. I use plenty of bluetooth devices with it. I can sync music between my macbook & my Ionic via wifi. When I choose to sync the connect app and the ionic, the macbook cannot find it. If I try to set it up as a new device, as soon as I say that I'm connecting an Ionic, it tells me I have to download the mobile phone app. Screen shot attached. Why can't I sync with a macbook?

A warm welcome to the Community @dcartwright. It sounds like you already have Fitbit Connect installed in your Mac as you mentioned you're able to sync music. However, it's pretty weird that it's showing you to download the Fitbit app as if you have a Mac, you should be able to sync it without having to install any app. 

 

I would like you to confirm you've download Fitbit Connect from this link fitbit.com/setup. You can learn more about How do Fitbit devices sync their data? by checking the article attached.
