Can't adjust music volume with AirPods...

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I transferred music to my Ionic and successfully paired it to my AirPods but the volume is fixed at a medium volume and can't be adjusted with the Ionic's volume buttons. Anybody have this problem with their bluetooth headphones?

Has there been any new information about this problem? I've tried unpairing the airpods and ionic, and restarting. Still no volume control....a very expensive watch and very expensive earbuds, both supposedly compatible devices. Please help

solution is to switch from fitbit to something else if you are taking athletic activity seriously.

i am trying to find alternatives to fitbit because fitbit is not here to satisfy the serious athletes, pros or extreme enthusiasts. polar, apple watch, garmin etc.

Agreed. Very disappointed they can’t get this fixed.

i thought about it a lot! i think there is also an intrinsic problem with airpods not having volume buttons. that is why fitbit cannot use regular protocols to invoke the volume up and down from the watch. nevertheless, this doesnt chg my mind about finding a professional tracker.

It’s January 2019 and I paired for the first time my AirPods to my Fitbit ionic after the latest firmware upgrade released few days earlier. The first issue was the volume too high and that it couldn’t be reduced, then I restarted the watch and I started listning with a low volume from only one AirPod and still couldn’t change the volume... Should I buy new headphones only for the Fitbit watch??

they wont fix it! it is a competitor to their fitbit flyer and the airpods dont have intrinsic volume control. they have to be turned up or down from iphone or idevice. it is a tough one for programmers so they happily ignore it. try backbeat fit plantronics. it is better for running.

I recently upgraded to the most recent Fitbit Version 33.1.30 and  was finally able to adjust the volume with my AirPods!  However, I wasn't able to adjust the volume while also running one of the FitBit Exercise programs, which really defeated the purpose for me.  I'm hoping there's a way to do that but I haven't had any time to look into it.

Yay, I can now too, the two buttons on the side dont work, I have to press the + or - on the screen and then they adjust nicely.   Wahoo !!!

So, here we are. May of 2020 and I have yet to find the answer to the question: "How do I adjust the volume of my Airpods with my Ionic watch?" When will Fitbit fix this problem or are they ignoring the users wishes because they want us to buy Fitbit's headphones? Hmmm?

Hi

As far as I know you still can’t adjust the volume. I found that I get the volume correct first when they are connected to my phone then connect them to the Fitbit and the volume remains the same. So in answer to your question, I think like a lot of other things, Fitbit are choosing to ignore everyone as it could be too hard to fix.
Sorry I couldn’t much help as I never found my answer to pass on.

Cheers Karen
