I have tried to update to 3.0 dozens of times over the last 4 days unsuccessfully. I have done it using both WiFi & Bluetooth, hooked up to the Charger, even in the room with my router. My FitBit goes through multiple downloads and installing and then ultimately says that the update failed. There is then a constant spinning symbol below the time on the clock face that won’t go away even though I have turned it off and restarted it several times. I have even tried removing the Ionic from the app on my iPhone and deleting the app itself and then reinstalling it. I am beyond frustrated and upset because I have wasted hours each day.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Nonni11! Thanks for taking to tried those steps in order to complete the firmware update on Fitbit Ionic. Nice way to go!
I'd recommend to follow the steps provided at Why can't I update my Fitbit device?
I've moved your post to Ionic board as there are more chances to get related replies here.
Give this a shot and let me know the outcome!

I did as you suggested several times with no success. I am in the process of doing it again now. In the meantime I cannot get the whirling symbol below the clock to go away so the battery dies after awhile. Sometimes I cannot even get the watch face to come up. I am beyond angry and frustrated. I have been trying to get this update for six days now. If it had not been so expensive, I would throw it away and get an Apple Watch.
