Can't listent to music and record activity at the same time - watch turns off

Ever since the most recent firmware update, my Ionic will not allow me to play music and record an activity at the same time. I can connect ear buds and start recording a run, but less than a minute into the run the watch shuts off and restarts. Keeps happening. I can listen to music or I can record an activity, but not at the same time. Help!

It's pretty weird that you're unable to record an activity and connect it to your ear buds. I would like you to confirm you're doing this procedure to pair your Ionic with your ear buds. Also, please double check these steps to track your workouts. Could you let me know the activity you're recording? Which ear buds are you using?

My earbuds connect fine, music is playing, then I try to record a run. The GPS picks up, everything is working fine, but minutes into the workout Ionic shuts off and restarts. I've tried multiple ear phones with multiple activities. Doesn't seem to matter. I use the Jaybird Vista earbuds and the TomTom earphones. I've used the TomTom earphones since I've owned the watch, with no problems. This only started with the new firmware update.
