Can't set up Ionic with iPad Pro

Hi,

I tried setting up the Ionic on an iPad Pro, but it could not find the wifi, in fact no wifi where listed at all.

When I did the same on my older iPad Air, it found the wifi and I could connect the fitbit to wifi easily.

I noticed in an old article that the iPad Pro was not certified yet.

Not sure why this should be an issue but there you go.

Has anyone been able to use the fitbit with an iPad Pro and connect to wifi?

It's nice to see you here @froden, how's everything going? Woman Very Happy Check if the iPad Pro you belong is listed in our Fitbit supported devices. See my image below:

If you can't get started with your Fitbit device, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements below:

  • Note that you can't set up your Fitbit device from your phone or tablet's Bluetooth screen; you must open the Fitbit app and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • The software on your phone is up to date. To see if an update is waiting to be installed:
    • iOS—Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • The Bluetooth setting on your phone or tablet is on. To find it:
    • iOS—Tap Settings > Bluetooth.

If you're still unable to set up, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Try setting up your device again.
  3. Restart Fitbit Ionic
  4. Try setting up your device again.
  5. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet (turn it off and then back on).
  6. Try setting up your device again.
  7. If you can't set up after the reboot, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app.

Neither my phone (LG V20) nor my tablet (iPad Pro 10.5) are on Fitbit’s supported device list. I’ve been getting by with a Samsung phone but this lag in device support is making me consider leaving the platform, even though I’ve been a Fitbit owner and user since 2009. I’m certainly not ordering the Ionic, which I admire from a features standpoint but without support for my devices, there’s no point.

Pondering my options until the new year.
