Can't sync second credit card to Ionic

The Wallet icon showed up in my Fitbit app last night, so I went ahead and added my AmEx card. That worked flawlessly, although I haven't had a chance to actually try to buy something yet. I then went to add my Visa, but I had to wait until this morning to call customer service to activate it. It's now activated, but I can't sync it to the Ionic. Every time I try, I just get an error:

Syncing activity data and everything else is working fine, though. Interestingly, the card art for this card did sync to the device, but it's on the wrong card. I obscured the card number for obvious reasons, but the card number shown actually matches my AmEx, not the Visa.

I'm using the developer firmware beta, in case it's relevant. [Edit: the card art seems to have fixed itself, and I was able to successfully pay for something using my AmEx on the Fitbit. Still can't sync the visa, though.]

Hi @MarreFitbit, I think your list is outdated. When I first added the card, I called Fidelity to activate it, and they were aware of Fitbit Pay and were able to activate the card. If it weren't supported, I don't think I would have been able to add it to the Fitbit app in the first place.

More importantly, I did eventually get the card to sync, and since then I've used it multiple times to pay for things. The issue I was having was just with syncing the card. The workaround for card syncing issues seems to be to suspend and unsuspend the card, after which it should sync correctly.

It's nice to see you here @mlindgren! The reason why you cannot add your Fidelity Visa card is because your bank is not supported. You can check on which banks are supported at this page. We're always working to add more banks. so check back later. Smiley Very Happy

Sadly not always and when it does work it tends only to be temporary. I’ve escalated the issue with Support but have no idea of resolution timescale.

Yup, you're right. I just went to lunch and tried to pay for something with my Ionic, but my card had disappeared again so I ended up fumbling around for my wallet and holding up the line. 😣

Please keep us posted on what support says. This issue makes Fitbit Pay unusable.

I also have the Fidelity card and would really like to see this added to Fitbit Pay!

I'm a bit confused by this thread. Was mlindgren able to use the card via Fitbit Pay, or did it not work in the end?

I'm considering buying an Ionic, but this is probably a dealbreaker for me if the Fidelity Visa isn't supported. 😞

And yes, I voted for the corresponding suggestion thread.

Welcome on board @Ivan-H, it's nice to have a new member around! I'm glad to hear you're interested in getting the Fitbit Ionic. Man Very Happy

To check if your card works with Fitbit Pay, see the Fitbit Pay Bank List. As mentioned along this thread, Fidelity is not yet included in the list. However, you can vote and comment in the feature suggestion Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature Card. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

It took a bit of searching, but I found that Fidelity Visa does support Fitbit Pay.  Here is a link to their webpage. Fitbit Pay is listed about half way down the page. I was able to enter and activate my Fidelity Visa card.  It appears the list of supported banks needs to be updated.

+1. I stumbled on that page as well, so I went ahead and bought the Ionic. Indeed, it works fine with my Fidelity credit card. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Fitbit should consider updating their supported bank page; I would have bought one earlier if I had known this worked, and there may be others holding off on purchasing the device based on this misinformation.

Looks like support has been removed (again?). It doesn't appear on the fidelity page above, and Elan confirmed they used to do those activations but Fitbit has removed it for some reason. I can't activate on my new Sense so this may end up not being the watch for me.

I also can't vote on the community issue since it was closed.
