Can't transfer music on Ionic

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have followed the procedure multiple times but I cannot get music to sync to my device. Once I get to the part where my PC (Windows 10) tries to connect it just sits there with the message saying "Looking for your Ionic...".  Both devices are on the same Wifi network.  Is anyone else having this issue?  Is this a known bug?  Is there anyway to work around this?  This procedure seems to be a bit ridiculous.

Ok, I finally got it to work.  I did nothing different, just had to try about 10 or 15 times before it worked.

It took you several attempts you say.... the successful one, did the "looking for your ionic..." message disappear quickly? Or do you need to have patience?

My Mac also doesn't find the ionic 😞

It took about a minute.  Wasn't right away.  The "looking for ionic" box disappeared and I was finally able to load music.

I am having the same problem. I have been here for nearly 4 hours! I really don't know what to try next. It's driving me crazy!! My ionic is saying "ready to transfer" but my computer is constantly staying at "looking for your ionic". Any other ideas welcome.

Just try and try and try, many people have the same problem and there is no answer from fitbit. Shame on you

I'm getting a bit frustrated with the same problem...

@Fitbit can you please help? I cannot load music onto my Fitbit Ionic as the 'desktop app' cannot seem to locate my Ionic on the wifi network.

Has this been resolved? I am having the same problem and I can't figure out what I need to do. I guess I will just keep trying...

Yes. Basically restart everything, including your WiFi routers until it
works....
Or contact Fitbit support who are very helpful
Good luck

It's also a timing issue, don't click Transfer Music on the Ionic until the app on the PC tells you to. Doing it earlier can result in the PC not locating the Ionic (took me a couple of goes before I realised my mistake)

I'm packing it up and headed to the store to return it. Have tried for three days in a row for hours at a time and nothing is working.

It DOES NOT have to be this hard! I'm SO bummed. I've waited for a year for all the features they promised, but without music, it's just a Charge 2 and I already had that.

Are you trying to transfer music from your PC or a Pandora playlist?  If from the PC if you can please type out the exact steps you went through, maybe someone here can help spot a flaw in your execution or maybe not if there was none.

Thanks for the response, but beyond trying at this point. For what its worth, here's the sequence that DOESNT but you would think it should work.
Laptop (Windows10)Opened dashboardBoth devices on WifiOpen Music on DashboardOpen Music on IonicClick on Personal Music on DashboardPopup to start transfer on IonicHit start transfer on Ionic... watch as nothing happens...
Got it down pat at this point!

Hey, I also tried for about 4 days. It was very frustrating. I had to download the Fitbit connect app. Rather than just the Fitbit app. Once I downloaded that it worked after a couple of attempts. I would definitely try the connect app if that's not what your using already. Good luck!

It has yes. I downloaded the Fitbit connect app and used that instead of just the Fitbit app. It worked much better.
