Change my stride

The mileage in my Ionic seems to be inaccurate. I changed the automatic step stride of 27 to reflect my stride of 14 inches but it doesn’t seem to work.  Could someone please help?

How tall or you @Charlanne1958 most children do not have a 14* stride? Also after changing the stride, a sync needs to be performed to send the new setting to the tracker.

Another way would be the tell us the true distance, Fitbit recorded distance, and current stride setting. It is then simple math to calculate the true stride.

I am 5’7”. Also, I am not a child either. I measured “my” stride and it was 14 inches. My running / jogging stride is even smaller. It’s around 12 inches.

I'm a male that is 65 years old, my stride is 28.2 inches.

The stride is the distance between us the heel of the left foot to the heal of the right foot.

The best way to determine the stride is by walking/running a known distance and count the steps. Now divide the distance by the steps.

Alternatively if we know the current stride setting, the true disttance the user walked/ran and the distance reported by Fitbit. We can use math to figure the true stride.
