I am trying to use my Ionic to track swimming. My primary pool is a 40m pool, and when I set the Length option to that distance on my Ionic, the watch is incapable of tracking correctly. In fact, it seems to almost double.
When I swam in a 25m pool recently, I also set the Length "back" to 25m, and it tracked almost perfectly!
I have found mention over the past year or so of a setting the Legnth on the watch itself does not seem to work. Is this still true? Additionally, I have seen people mention setting via other means like the Desktop App, the Web, and the Phone App (android), yet I cannot find a the setting in either the Web or Android App. Can someone point me to where i might be able to set the Length outside of the Watch itself?

Hello @unteer it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums, let me give you a hand with your Fitbit Ionic.
Seems odd that you're experiencing such difficulties with the pool length settings on your device to track your swim, this is certainly not a common situation nor the way this feature was designed. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know which mobile device you're using to sync your Ionic? Also, when was the first time you experienced the discrepancy situation with your 40m pool and how many times since then? In the meantime I receive your answers, please restart your Ionic and try again.
It's not true that setting the length on the device itself doesn't work, this feature was designed to change your pool length settings directly from your Ionic for your convenience. However, if you would like to change such settings from your Fitbit app or Fitbit.com, I recommend you to check our help article: How do I set the pool length for my Fitbit device? for more information and details. Also, you can check: How do I track my swims with my Fitbit device? for more information about this specific feature on your Fitbit Ionic.
I'll be around if you need anything else, keep me posted.

Hi @RicardoFitbit ,
Sorry for the delayed reply, and thanks for reaching out. I am syncing my Ionic to a Nokia 6.1 running Android.
My first swim in a 40m length pool that did not register properly was on 29 June 2019. I then tried again on 21 July 2019.
On 22 July 2019, I used a 25m length pool and set the watch back to 25m, and it worked fine.
All swims after 22 July have been in the 40m pool. What I usually end up doing is deleting the activity because it is erroneous and entering my own data using my manual length count x length.
Finally, sadly your linked articles don't help. I would like to know if there are ways to set length aside from setting it on the device, but the articles you link to imply there is no other way. Can you please confirm this is the case?
Thanks again for your reply.
