Changing stride length seems to have no effect.

Well I have short strides so went to change my stride length to 36”/75cm or so. But seemed to have no effect so I changed it to 2”/5cm and would expect it to sky rocket. But still no effect.

So not sure how my Fitbit is getting its strides.

Im a bit confused about what you are trying to achieve by changing your stride length. All it will change is the distance travelled, and as you say your stride length is short, it will probably reduce the distance it says you travel. It will have no affect at all on the number of steps you do (not sure if thats what you meant, but seemed to me to be what you were saying)
