Has anyone had issues with the waterproofing on the Ionic? Someone commented on Facebook that they "heard" this was a problem from a reviewer friend. But, I've seen nothing on it.

Did you just end up buying a garmin?

Hi Rachael, I did. I've been a longtime fitbit customer/supporter, but this one really did push me over the edge. That, along with consistent issues with basic syncing, too many conversations with their support group, it made it very easy for me to switch. Been very pleased since, with no issues.

It does, battery life is good/comparable to fitbit.

I was told to get a garmin! But I really liked the Fitbit app, I had friends on there (I originally had a flex) I just wanted to be able to use it whilst I swam. I’m since to brave using it in the pool since the last time. I honestly think we should all be refunded due to the false advertising! As....had this not have said it was “waterproof” I would’ve switched to garmin! Gutted, it’ll be a long time before I can afford another one.

@Rachael_Breen Thanks for your reply and for your feedback. I'm glad you got a replacement unit.
Ionic is a waterproof device, so you should not experience any trouble again. I'd say try to use it at the pool, it should be fine.

I understand your frustration, I’m still not happy with my ionic replacement, I’ve not attempted to go swimming with it on since I got it back and the swimproof feature was also the reason I upgraded to the ionic. Since getting a replacement I’ve noticed little splashes of water makes my ionic show the Fitbit icon on the screen, so I don’t trust that it would be capable of being swimproof! Once I can justify spending the money on a new watch I’ll be upgrading to a garmin!

@Rachael_Breen Thanks for your reply and for sharing the details about the situation you are experiencing with your replacement watch.
It shouldn't show that while swimming. Please note that you can use the email channel you had when you replaced Ionic the first time to report this scenario. You should get some help just like last time.
@txwoody I hope you're doing well! Thanks for sharing the experience you have had with your replacement watch. I'm really glad to read that your new watch has been working properly.
See you around!

I have the same problem. I went today for a swim and now my fitbit ionic has condensation behind the sensors, it shows 0% battery and it won’t take a new charge.
I had previous swims with this fitbit ionic and it was fine.
I’ve contacted the fitbit support and I’m waiting for their answer.

@Ciprian Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for posting the situation you have experienced with Ionic after swimming. It's unfortunate to read that it got some condensation and that the battery is not working properly.
Thanks for contacting customer support regarding this. I went ahead and contacted you via PM. Please keep an eye on your Community inbox.

I’ve not had anything like that, it my replacement sometimes shuts down and just displays the Fitbit logo, especially if it’s had a drop/splash of water on it....I wouldn’t trust it anywhere near a pool now, which is a shame as that feature was why I bought it.

Same issue here and they can't send a replacement to my country, I am truly sorry for wasting money on this company. They advertise their product as being waterproof but it took one shower to break the device. I really don't recommend buying Fitbit Ionic.
