As @Colinm39 stated,  from the watch face, swipe Left. You will see "Screen Wake." And under it, it says "Auto." Tap that, and it will change to "Manual."

@ColinRYou can control that.... Push your left button on the Ionic, release,  and keep swiping left to right until the end which is the Screen awakening and Notifications settings.

Tapping on each reverses the settings.

When you finish that and select the top right button it should open the last active Ionic App..

Thank you for for taking the time to reply. I have turned off the settings for Exercise & sleep which are the only there items to turn off. I am trying to turn off the fitbit from lighting up during the day and night by a mere wrist movement - there must be a way to only activate by using the left button?

@ColinRI don't worry about sleep because I only lose 1%/hr of the battery with HR set to auto...

One to consider is to check and turn off "all day sync" on your phone App. I have no issues with the "Always Connected" option, which only uses battery when you open the App..

My battery lasts 4-5 days depending on how much GPS I do and I can still sync at 13% battery.

@SunsetRunnerIt must be the way the water goes down the plug hole in the Southern Hemisphere because I have to swipe from left to right..

I swipe right to left from the clock face to get my Apps...

I have asked others but no response..

No, it’s because we walk upside down!

All good, thank you.

Yes, done all that and now turned off the function. More than wanting to preserve battery which I also get 3 + days after doing the same as yourself, is the light annoyance and turning on all the time seems unnecessary.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

I reckon for me swiping left means brining the leftmost screen on focus. Anyway, problem solved.
