Is there an update on the horizon to get fitbit ionic to track cross country skiing?
I have to track jogging now. Then manually add the skiing (which doesn't allow to enter anything but whole kilometers, decimals not allowed?) and then delete the jogging. A bit cumbersome .. Not rocket science or so, to allow this form of exercise to be added to automatic tracking? Thanks.

@AnetteGunnarsso You can use Workout for any activity not available in Fitbit's stable.
When the activity is complete you then rename it. You only have one go at it unfortunately.
To rename a Workout it must be have entered in your Custom Activities and been synced to your Fitbit to be able the rename.

@Colinm39 this may work for non-GPS based activities but cross country skiing is an outdoor activity that should contain GPS data when logged. I'm not sure but I think there are some other activities ( like "Walk" ) that can be renamed which may contain GPS data.
@AnetteGunnarsso keep dreaming 🙂 It's Fitbit.

@AnetteGunnarssoWalk has GPS but unfortunately can't be edited..
This link has a Feature Suggestion to add forms of skiing but is asking for more clarification..
The moderator suggested Run like you suggested Walk
Best Answer@Colinm39 I can edit "Walk" but not every time. Not sure what determines when the Walk may be edited. Maybe autodetection? If so, then indeed it's useless for this purpose.

@AnetteGunnarsso Correct... I have found you can edit the Autodetect activities.. I frequently get Outdoor Bike for gardening and rename that.
Looks like skiers are stuck with what's available, or use, Bike, Walk, Run or Hike with the GPS option set.. Maybe Hike for you and allows you to find it later and keep the Run and Walk for just that.. or the Workout renamed for the odd activities..
