So, I have been reading a lot on these forums about dead Ionic watches. Unfortunately my Ionic died last week after having issues for a couple weeks. It all started while trying to troubleshoot my daughters Versa Lite and through the fitbit help-desk, they had me disconnect my watch from my phone to pair hers to my phone. When I reconnected and re-setup my Ionic the screen started having issues and started to become non-responsive. Could have been a coincidence that this happened after this, but I'm not convinced that it didn't have something to do with it. Never had a problem before. After numerous restarts to get things working I had to try a factory restart and that's where it ended. will not turn back on no matter what.
Fitbit has offered me a discount on purchasing a new device but I'm a bit sheepish to repurchase a new Ionic.
My question is .... What is the failure rate of the Ionic? Just reading the forums I'm thinking its high.
Trying to make a good decision on a replacement.

Hi there. I have the same issue. I think I'm going to purchase a Garmin for my next watch. Sounds like they are much more reliable.

People come to complain. They very rarely come to give praise.
I have had my Ionic since 10/3/2017. I have never had any problems with it what so ever

I would say good for you, WendyB. My first one lasted less than a year, and my second one (which was likely a refurb) lasted less than 6 mos. If you've got one that has lasted 2.5 years, good for you. It certainly was not my experience.
