Hi, my Fitbit ionic has not reset step to zero on midnight. The time in setting is ok. Anyone with ideas please. Thanks
Moderator edit: edited title for clarity
Hi everyone,
I'm having the same problem, my ionic is not resetting after midnight plugged in or not...doesn't seem to matter about plugging in or not. The weird part, doesn't happy every day AND the other day it added steps while plugged in after midnight. Maybe I'm walking 3,000+ steps in my sleep, LOL. Last night everything reset except calories burned. It says I burned 650+ calories just from charging it.
I have already reset it to factory and it's still happening. Any thoughts? Should I just get the apple watch?
Thanks!
Best AnswerI have discovered that I have to, no joke, wrap my Ionic in a towel when I charge it to keep it from recording thousands of steps while it charges. Have not had the reset bug other than when charging though and that was before the towel.
Best AnswerWOW, that seems nuts to have to wrap it in a towel!
Best AnswerHi, @Kight, if you charge your Fitbit on a vibration source it is likely to add false steps. This could even include resting it on a computr cpu while charging. Could this be what is going on in your case?
Sense, Charge 5, Inspire 2; iOS and Android
Best AnswerI charge it on bed side table at night.
Best AnswerI tested that theory by taking off the Ionic and putting it on my desk for 4 hours one night while doing other things. It didn't record any steps while just sitting there. I then left it in the same spot plugged it to charge, it then recorded 15K steps while charging. I dont think its a matter of where it sets, but is a bug when connected to the charging cable. There is no perceptible vibration, that I can feel anyway. I am using the same location I always charged my One which didnt have the issue.
I have since started wrapping it in a towel and that seems to have solved the issue.
Best AnswerThanks for your thoughts, I do appreciate it. It's very frustrating. When will Fitbit address it?
Best AnswerDoes anyone really believe this could be software to address it with a corrective fix? I tend to think it is a sensor issue. Perhaps they received a batch of bad sensors and folks that received a watch with the bad sensor have been witnessing this issue. As long as ionic was with me, I never experienced this issue.
