As much as i like the dash boards and fitness functions of the Fitbit is seriously let down by it's connectivity. Connecting to a Wifi is hit and miss, Bluetooth is flaky at best. I mean if you travel your phone has to have an Internet connection to be able to update the time - a watch that needs the internet to change the time!! Try connecting a Bluetooth headset, it works once out of 5 attempts and I've tried that with various Bluetooth headsets.
The are Fitbit users (as bad as the Apple wow boys) who absolutely refuse to admit the watch is flawed, they give the same advice every-time - turn off the watch and try again.
I have had several smart watches and fitness watches, the Ionic has so much potential but it is let down by the implementation. The firmware is certainly not quality.

Both myself and my Wife had Microsoft Fitband 2s - Apart from the bulky design of the strap/sensors they were brilliant, worked a treat and had a fitness portal that was just as good as the Fitbit one - then Microsoft just stopped developing them grrr!!!.
I haven't had a Garmin watch (I know their GPSs well) but I have heard good things about them. My wifi has an iWatch which also seems to work flawlessly, I don't want to keep buying into the whole Apple eco system but I might well have to do so again.
