So I just upgraded to the Ionic and for some reason when I have it in my pocket or ankle it doesn’t track calories active minutes nor the steps per hour. Does anyone know why? My last Fitbit was the blaze and it tracked everything in my pocket.

Hi @Tone1020, thank you for your inquiry, and welcome to the Community forums.
You should be able to see some data recorded even if your watch is in your pocket, but remember wrist-based devices are more accurate if you wear them like that, rather than in your pocket. Could you please confirm if you're not able to see any data recorded at all?
Calories are also tracker using your basal metabolic rate (BMR), that is the rate at which you burn calories at rest just to maintain vital body functions like breathing, heartbeat, and brain activity. The calorie burn estimate that Fitbit provides takes into account your BMR, the activity recorded by your tracker, and any activities you log manually, so you should be able to see some calorie data.
Also, if you're indeed having trouble to track daily data, you can also try restarting your Ionic following the steps here.
I hope this helps, keep me posted.

So David there is no data at all when I wear it on my ankle either. I wear it on my arm when I’m not at work but at work with no jewelry allowed I wear it on my ankle or in my pocket. Lately I’ve been wearing it on my ankle minus one day after I first got my New Ionic. It’s not a big issue because it’s atill tracking my steps but it does suck to have 30k steps and the steps per hour say you didn’t make your goal lol. But I’ll try restarting it and if that doesn’t work I’ll just deal with it not tracking while I’m at work

Thank you for the response and the details @Tone1020, not wearing it on the wrist could potentially affect the accuracy, since the device was designed as wristwatch, however, do let us know how the device is performing after the restart process.
