Hello everyone! I wanted to clarify your inquiry about the photos/images no longer available in your Exercise App.
With the new design there aren't any images anymore just the name of the exercise. As seen in the article: How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?
However, I'd like to give thanks for the feedback you've provided towards the changes in the last Fitbit OS. Rest assured that our team uses this information to further improve our products and services. Know that we provide feedback to our team based on community posts and we are always working on improving our devices and overall environment based on that feedback. 😉
Let me know if you have any questions present.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

@chriswebber Welcome to the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned.
It's pretty weird that you're not longer seeing photos when selecting an exercise. I would like you to restart your Ionic and and check if you get it when you choose an exercise again.
I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Hi SilviaFitbit thank you for your response.
As you suggested I restarted my Ionic, but I am still not seeing the photos when selecting an exercise.
Instead the screen diverts to listing my exercise shortcuts with an orange image icon next to each one.
Beneath this list is a box marked 'More' which when selected lists all the other exercises that I have not selected as shortcuts each with an orange image icon.
Do you think I may need to reinstall version 70.7.14 ?

@chriswebber This looks like a display change with the firmware update. My display on my Versa 2 is exactly what you describe.
This display change has two new features. First, you have the opportunity to choose from more exercises, not the the number allowed in your exercise shortcut list. Second, I see that you can set a goal right from the watch face before you start -- distance, time or calories.

Hi LZeeW thank you for your response.
I agree this looks like a display change with the firmware update, if so I really don't like it...
All the exercises are now listed on the fitbit display although nothing has changed, as I get the message " You can only store 7 exercises on the Shortcut List. Edit list from the Fitbit mobile app."...
Yes Goals can now be set from the watch face, and this is a useful improvement...

@chriswebber That is not the case for me. I can start/stop every exercise on the list.
The Fitbit Blog says that the Exercise App redesign applies to Ionics and Versas, although some features apply only to the Versa 2. The Blog called called the appearance streamlined. I liked the pictures, too.
I am going to report your experience through channels, in addition to the tag below. Can you change your title to something like "Exercise App update not working properly"? I can't edit your title. Others users with the same problem can add to your post.
@SilviaFitbit The OP got an answer to the original question, but the Exercise App is not working properly. I can start/stop every exercise from my Versa 2. He cannot.

Hi LZeeW
Sorry for being a bit of a numpty, but how can I edit this threads title to:
"Exercise App update not working properly"
As requested?

@chriswebber editing the title is easy. Simply go to the top post, tap the three dots on the right and then tap edit.
The changes to exercise has 2 sections. The top section may be thought of as quick access to the top 7 wanted. Tapping "more" brings up the rest of the twenty exercises. These you should be able to start the same way the top 7 may be started.
Pressing edit on the screen allows the user to exchange the location of an exercise from below/above the. "Moore". Reminder that only a maximum of 7 may be put in the commonly used events. I only have 5 listed here.

@chriswebber I might have a misunderstanding about the steps you are taking and the things you are seeing. This is what I see when I navigate through the Exercise App:
Where are things going awry as you navigate through the Exercise App?

LZeeW
Sorry it was my confusion, all is fine navigating through the exercise app now that I understand.
I am still unhappy being no longer able to view the exercise photographs that were there before I did the version upgrade.
Is this an error unique to my Fitbit? or is this a fault with the new version 70.7.14 common to everybody?

12-08-2019 07:49
I would not call it a fault, but a redesign. Yes the photos are nice, but they take up a lot of memory which is somewhat limited. When putting all twenty exercises in the trackerore memory is being used. Something has to give and Fitbit changed this memory hogging photos to small icons that show at a glance what tge type of exercisen.
Not a fault but a decision to free up memory for features requested by the user.

Hi Rich-Laue
I'm surprised Fitbits redesign axed the static exercise photos due to the amount of memory they take up,
Yet maintain the Fitbit Coach moving exercise photos that must take up a far greater amount of memory?

I would add besides the amount of memory used, the issue is the size of the pictures/icons on the tracker. I myself like being to see several exercise options on the same screen as it is now. If you want a big picture as it was before, then you have to scroll the screen to see each different option. As it is now, I can see 4 different options on the same screen without having to scroll.

Yes it is an app redesign. The photos are no longer present when selecting an exercise.

12-08-2019 11:22
Personally I found those pictures a little overkill.
12-08-2019 11:32
12-08-2019 11:32
Agreed @Rich_Laue at least now you can start your exercise quicker as well
12-08-2019 12:58
12-08-2019 12:58
It is even easier to start exercises in the Versa 2, I simply ask Alexa.

I'm not happy at the loss of the pictures. This was one of my favourite things about the ionic and something which made it stand apart from the rest of trackers and other trackers. Can I undo the update as I want the pictures back! It takes seconds to scroll through and I had them set up as I wanted them. Quite annoying that they have done this. We should be able to decide which view we want ref memory and have the original pictures or the new look if desired.

No you can't rollback and no you can't have the photos back either. I personally think it's a change for the better and when it works the updated exercise app is a big improvement.
