Exercise Cues Option is Missing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have had problems with my Ionic doing random reboots and failing to sync with my phone. As per advise in these forums I did a full reset.

I went through all the resetting and updating process and i'm now configuring the features I had previously.

I don't have the option for Exercise Cues any more.

In the Exercise app, the config options for  Walk and Run are:

Show Laps, Automatic Lap Settings, Customize Stats, GPS, Always-On Screen.

I have firmware 27.33.1.30

There are no options to update either the firmware or the apps.

Any ideas why?

It's great to see you around @ShimmyD. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.

When you're changing the exercises cues in your Ionic you need to do it through your laps, please tap on settings > show laps > automatically and then you'll see automatic lap settings and choose the ones that you want.

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

@ShimmyD   First, I need to say that I have a Versa 2 on my account.  I hope my advice will work as the two devices use the same OS.  My firmware has been updated, but I was able to find the Exercise Cues in the app before the upgrade.  From your app if you go to Ionic > Exercise Shortcuts > tap on Walk (or Run) > do you get a screen where you can toggle the GPS on/off and set the exercise cues?  I am an iPhone user and I have this option.  I can set my Exercise Cues there.

Definitely an app choice for me now.

If still not available, try going to your dashboard on your fitbit.com website > tap on the gear icon > Ionic > you can set the Exercise Cues there.  But I just don't think it should be necessary.

Ok, so Cues is now called Laps and the feature is the same?

I assumed it was something different because the manual shows screenshots of Cues on the settings menu.

Thanks for the reply.

@ShimmyD   No, Cues and Laps are not the same.  I looked at the Ionic Manual, so I see what you are saying -- p 40 of the manual -- Cues are set from the Ionic.

Like I said, I use a Versa 2 and the Cues settings are in my app.

I do have an Ionic, but I will have to recharge it to put it back on my account to investigate.

I will get back to you on this.

Update: I charged my Ionic -- I was able to get into the Exercise App of the Ionic without putting it back on my account.  When I select Run > Gear , the screen is identical to my Versa 2 screen.  I am very sure you will find the cues in the phone app.

@SilviaFitbit  Laps are not Cues.

Thanks for your assistance @LZeeW

Hey @ShimmyD. Sorry for the delayed reply. You have the option to set cues on your Fitbit Ionic or in the Fitbit app. When you're in the Fitbit app it will show "cues" but when you're setting them on your watch they will be shown as laps.

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Recently restarted ionic and in process of resetting watch back to previous settings, cannot set exercise notifications...i.e mile, calories etc based on workout. I am on an Android app, which previously I would set the notifications in the activity section, which is no longer there.
