I try to turn on either app since trying to update yesterday which failed and since neither app will open they try then go back to the menu

A Factory Reset is about all that's left.  Caution:  Be aware that the tracker is returned to the state it was in when you first took it out of the box. ANY changes or additions you have made will be lost.
