After 5 years i'm done with Fitbit.
I said to myself after the latest fault developed that whenever Fitbit refused to replace the product I wouldn't give them anymore custom.
After 5 years I am on my 7th device ! - I have had a Fitbit One, 3 surges and 3 Ionics.
These products are NOT worth the money as they won't last 12 months - the devices stop working for a variety of reasons and the straps fall apart (you can buy an after-market strap for a fraction of the Fitbit price that will last longer than the original !).
The metrics, algorithms, app etc are all excellent however the build quality and lifespan of the product is an issue unless you can afford to keep buying a new product everytime it stops working.
I naively thought when Google purchased the company, the first thing they would do is fix the build quality alas i now think Google is not interested in the product, only the data.
So long Fitbit.

I am with you on build quality, my second Ionic has just failed. However, look on the bright side, I assume you have been given 6 replacement watches over a 5 year period? At least Fitbit has come to the party and actually replaced the product when it failed. My current Ionic is out of the 2 year warranty, yet Fitbit haven't quibbled about replacing it. The process was easy and done through a chat operator. I just explained the issue (completely dead) and within 5 minutes the replacement process was underway. This is how it should be.
So would I buy another Fitbit watch? Probably not, but it is nice to know that the company stands behind the product when it fails. Hopefully my experience was the norm.

I too will say goodbye to Fitbit. My ionic twice has had the face fall off the watch. Not once but twice, all within one and a half years. Still under warranty replaced first two, but now , till under a two-year warranty, Fitbit is not replacing. Need a major recall on the Ionic, major defect in the product. Too bad , so sad,I enjoyed it very much when it was working. But if a company will not stand by their product, certainly will not buy another one.

So if the watch has failed completely, yet is still inside the warranty period, surely you know what to do? My guess is you won't.
