Feedback about GPS activity and customer support

Trying to record my rowing water session using my ionic watch. The only way to record my session with GPS, in aim of recording a distance, is to record it as a “run” or a “walk” on my watch.

but when I sync to my phone, I try to re-categorise the activity as rowing, but it won’t let me. Which I suppose I can deal with, however, even with the GPS on the distance is recorded incorrectly. Yet when I upload to strava (this can only be done if the GPS is on) the distance is corrected, all using the data from Fitbit.

what I don’t understand is why strava can very simply do this, yet it’s like drawing blood from a stone trying to do it on Fitbit...

I have spoken to customer support twice regarding this issue, the first person was ok and tried to understand but didn’t help me and the second person was frankly rude and didn’t even try to help!

I would advise no one to buy a Fitbit watch if they do lots of exercise, it’s not a watch for exercising... There is always an issue, it’s unreliable, overpriced and disappointing.

I really hope that someone from Fitbit can help me fix this issue but if it can’t I want my money back.

@Zoe-Coates Hey there. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with our Support team, this helps us to continue improving.

At the moment, it's not possible to track a Rowing water session with GPS, as you mentioned you're able to get GPS data only if you track it using "run" or "walk" but when you sync your activity to your account, it's not possible to edit it.

You may want to vote for this idea, these are reviewed by our team and the status will change based in Fitbit's plans. Users will have the opportunity to vote and comment on it to show their support.

Thanks for your understanding. I'll be around if you have any additional questions.
